Swervedriver’s much overlooked 1995 album Ejector Seat Reservation is to be repressed on vinyl this month with additional tracks.
Produced by Alan Moulder the album is being released by Music on Vinyl following the success of Raise and Mezcal Head recently, original Creation pressings on vinyl go for over £100 on average with one copy even selling for £310 on Discogs.
Upon it’s original release in July 1995 Creation had recently dropped Slowdive, Ride were about to play their final gig (for 20 years) and My Bloody Valentine had gone on a hiatus. Creation Records was all about Oasis whom were about to go head to head with Blur in a chart battle before releasing the biggest selling album of the decade.
The Boo Radleys also had the most played record on British radio of the year whilst Teenage Fanclub were at their commercial peak following the release of Grand Prix.
Now fully under the control of Sony, Swervedriver were unlikely to be given much support from a label now looking for a radio friendly chart hits, things were very different to 1991.
Creation dropped the band soon after the release of the album and their 1998 album 99th Dream was released on Zero Hour Records before they took a lengthy break.
