Super Furry Animals have announced a 20th anniversary release of their second album Radiator.
The album is released on 2CD or Double Vinyl on 28th July 2017 and follows last year’s Fuzzy Logic repress.
The band stated on their Facebook page “For three, contented months we lived in a house in constant earshot of military aircraft, to make ‘Radiator’ the album that it was. The original album sounded great when we emerged from our exile on Anglesey, and still does, but technology moves with the times and now we can hear it in higher-resolution, as nature intended.”
“We’ve forgotten as much as we ever knew, so the rarities, demos and b-sides on the second disc are as much a surprise to us as they are to you.”
One of those rare bonus tracks is a cover of The Smiths ‘The Boy With A Thorn In His Side” which you can hear below.
The press release states:
Radiator is the acclaimed Welsh indie rockers seminal 2nd album. A fusion of power pop, punk rock, techno and progressive rock – creating a shimmering, melodic, irreverent and artsy rock & roll. A heady, impressive kaleidoscope of sounds which, giving Radiator an intoxicating, otherworldly atmosphere. One of the few late-’90s albums that sounds inventive, vibrant, and utterly contemporary.
