Terry Bickers post-The House of Love band are finally releasing their second album ‘Meanwhile Gardens’ 22 years after they split.
Following Terry Bickers departure from The House of Love at the end of 1989, he formed Levitation with David Francolini in 1990 alongside Christian (Bic) Hayes from The Cardiacs, Robert White from Ring and Laurence O’Keefe from fellow Creation band The Jazz Butcher.
After recording several singles for Ultimate Records, the band signed to Rough Trade for their debut album released in 1992. The band then moved to major label Chrysalis in the UK when Rough Trade folded, however their second album remained unreleased until now.
Produced by Tim Smith of The Cardiacs and mixed by Mike ‘Spike’ Drake, Levitation were due to release Meanwhile Gardens in 1993 when the band split and the album was shelved indefinitely. Until now the only way to hear the album was via low quality bootlegs online.
