Watch a Primal Scream gig from 1987

Primal Scream

Primal Scream played London’s ULU on 26th June 1987 and an old bootleg video of the gig has appeared on YouTube.

This was during the bands stint on Elevation (McGee’s Creation off-shoot on Warner Brothers) when they were preparing to release ‘Sonic Flower Groove’. Included in the line-up at this time is Martin St John on tambourine and Throb was still on bass as Jim Beattie was playing guitar alongside Andrew Innes.

I love these old bootlegs, even though the quality isn’t always great they take you back to a certain time and give you a reminder of those gigs, I bought all those Elevation singles when they were released.

The setlist for the gig was:
Treasure Trip
Sonic Sister Love
Gentle Tuesday
Silent Spring
May The Sun Shine Bright For You
Love You
Tomorrow Ends Today
Imperial
I’m Gonna Make You Mine
Imperial

James Endeacott who was in the support band Loop that night stated on his blog about this video “as Bobby said to me last night after watching this for the first time ‘there was nothing like us back around then’ – he was right…”

Below is the video for Gentle Tuesday.
