Ed Ball has contributed to the Carol Morley film ‘Edge’ which recently had a DVD release. The press release describes the film as:

Lost souls looking for something find themselves at a strange hotel perched on the edge of a cliff slowly crumbling into the sea. Each of them is hoping one way or another to put their troubles behind them.

Funny, perceptive and tender, Carol Morley’s Edge inventively weaves together the lives of the idiosyncratic hotel guests and staff. As they help each other contemplate the mystery of their lives they discover things about themselves they never knew.

Set in an uncanny snow covered coastal landscape Edge is an intensely atmospheric, sensitive drama featuring exceptional performances from an ensemble cast including: Maxine Peake (Silk/ The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister), Joe Dempsie (Skins), Nichola Burley (Kicks/ Street Dance 3D), Paul Hilton (Wuthering Heights), Marjorie Yates (Shameless/ The Long Day Closes) & Julie T. The music and songs in Edge are by Edward Ball (Television Personalities/ The Times), Alice Temple (Eg and Alice), Ivor Talbot (Divine Comedy) and Vini Reilly (Durutti Column).
